Waterfront Personnel

The Club has a team of four full time professional Waterfront Staff.

Barrie Smith- Senior Boatmen

Barrie has worked at the Club since 1985.  Barrie is a qualified Crane
Operator and an RYA Powerboat Instructor.  He is also a helm on the
Lifeboat and is married with two children. 

     

Phil Baker- Senior Boatmen

Phil has worked for the Club for over 20 years, he is also a helm on the Lymington Lifeboat.  Phil has recently completed the Crane Operators qualification and is an RYA Powerboat Instructor.  He is married and has two young children.

Iain Marshall - Waterfront Assistant (Boatman)

Iain joined the team a few years ago after having spent many years at sea on tall ships.  Iain has a keen interest in rigging and rope work.  He is also qualified as an MCA Officer of the Watch.  Iain has been slinging the crane, under the supervision of the Senior Boatmen for many years but this winter he passed the Crane Operators course.

     

John Husband - Waterfront Assistant (Boatman)

John is the newest member of the team.  He has followed in Phil's foot steps and become the youngest member of the Lymington Lifeboat Crew.  John is an accomplished mark layer and also a keen kayaker.  He is qualified as a RYA Safety Boat driver and Crane Operator.
