The Nordic Folkboat is a timeless classic, attractive and a pleasure to sail. Well suited to both cruising and racing which makes it a most versatile and inexpensive route to a great variety of sailing.  The Nordic Folkboat appeals to a wide variety of sailors, it is an ideal boat for a family to race also providing  good one design racing to satisfy the keen racers. We have a full fixture list with regular racing every week to suit allcomers.

The West Solent Series offers folkboaters more long passage style races We have arranged a couple of long races one to Cowes for lunch, another will take us eastwards down the Solent eventually coming back and finishing at the Beaulieu River for what promises to be good social evening at Gins Farm.  There is also the Christchurch Ledge race.

Club Thursday evening racing, as always, is very popular and gives us all a chance of winding down and a good social after a days work.

This year the RLymYC is hosting the Nordic Nationals and Folkboat week in Yarmouth is always a great event.

There are several ways of joining our fleet, anyone interested in learning more about the Nordic Folkboat, whether as potential crew or prospective owner should contact the Class Captain or a member of the committee.
