Royal Lymington Yacht Club

commodoreWelcome to the Club’s web site: I hope it tells you what you want to know about the Club, and what’s going on in our racing and social programmes.

We aim to be successful on the water, friendly and welcoming ashore.

Every year, we run something over 200 days of organised sailing events, we start over 400 races and run a dozen or so open events which attract over 800 entrants.  Our keel-boats compete at national level and we are regular prize winners in individual classes at Cowes Week and in the Round the Island Race.

Our burgee is flown round the world by Members cruising in South America, Australia, the Baltic, the North Sea coasts of Scotland and Scandinavia, Atlantic Spain and the Mediterranean as well as the cruising grounds close to home.

Our Wednesday Junior Sailing programme has trained thousands of children from the local community and our nationally and internationally successful fleets of Optimists, Cadets, Lasers, 420s and 470s set exceptional standards of performance and development of individuals.

Many of our junior & youth sailors are selected to RYA training squads and go on to take part in World & European championships.

Check our web cam during an event to see just how much goes on.

In the Clubhouse, we aim to provide a pleasant, friendly place where members and visitors can relax and enjoy good food prepared from fresh ingredients every day. We run a varied and well attended winter programme of training courses, lectures, special suppers and formal dinners as well as the key events of the seasons such as the Laying Up and Fitting Out parties and traditional Christmas and New Year events.

Members of reciprocal clubs and members of other RYA recognised clubs whilst sailing in the Western Solent are welcome to make use of our bar and restaurant. If visiting on a Friday or Saturday and wishing to dine, it is recommended that you book a table in advance through the House Manager on 01590 671751.

The Club is justly proud of its family atmosphere and of the high sea-going standards set and maintained by its Members over the years.

We are honoured to have Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal as Patron.
