• There are around 60 optimist sailors of all ages (>8) and abilities.
• Training takes place most Sundays in the river and we are planning to try and have fun events as well as serious training.
• Sunday the 21st June to are planning a sail-away to Yarmouth with beach games and a BBQ, as we will have had two weekends of regattas at Lymington and we thought it would be a good team building day.
• If you live close enough there is river sailing on a Monday night, starting off the club at 6:30, we can have as many as 10 oppies out.
• The flotilla is run jointly between the Class Captain and Ian Jarman and we aim to get the kids sailing to a high level as well as having fun and making friends.

Joining the Royal Lymington

They are two ways that children can become Members of the Yacht Club:

1. Full Family Membership

If a parent or both parents join then the children can become family Members.  This is the preferred way and offers lots more benefits, such as subsidised coaching, cheaper tariff in the bar, full use of the Club's facilities access to training courses and opportunities to support the Juniors.

2. Junior Membership

Children can join in there own right as Junior Members. The annual subscription is the only as much as the cost of a buoyancy aid, however there are additional costs for coaching, which don't apply to family members.

For more information on Membership click here, or email the Membership Secretary.  Alternatively you can email the Class Captain.
