Wine List
Club Wines are available by the 6 or 12 bottle case, depending on the variety. Case prices are 10% above the price paid by the Club to its suppliers plus VAT.
House Wines by the case will nearly always be available but Members should ask the Steward about Club Wines by the case as stocks may be limited.
Club Wine Information
The Club’s Wine List includes ‘House Wines’ which, though selected for their price, are still pretty good. The rather better ‘Club Wines’ - some of them unusual - are for drinking on their own or with food. From 2006, all new entrants to the list are selected, tasted and approved by the House Committee’s Wine Sub-Committee which regularly reviews and makes changes the list working with the Steward.
Wines marked with ** are those that have been added recently by the Wine Sub-Committee and should be worth a try.
From time to time, the Club’s wine merchants offer good prices on wines they think we might like and these will feature on the ‘Wine Of The Month’ selection.
Bar prices are approved by the General Committee and are set to produce a surplus in the bar and restaurant to meet the overall trading result approved by Members at the Annual General Meeting. Prices are competitive in our area at comparable quality. The mark-up on wine prices is limited to £7 making the higher quality wines more affordable. Prices shown on the list are for Members’ Club Cards followed (in brackets) by the cash non-member price.
