Course Content
Attendees will work through or practice skills from the RYA Powerboat Level Two Syllabus below. Please note that attendance does not result in a PB2 certificate, but regular attendees may become eligible to achieve this via a direct assessment.
Each item on the course syllabus is taught to one of the following levels:
- 'Knowledge of' = The subject will be briefly explained.
- 'Understands' = The student can demonstrate a basic understanding and go away from the course able to develop further on their own.
- 'Can' = The student can demonstrate good skills in this subject.

- Securing to a Buoy
- Anchoring
- Leaving and Coming Alongside
- Person Overboard and Emergency Procedures
- Types of Craft, Hull Type, Seating
- Arrangements and Engines
- Charts, Chart Symbols and Buoyage
- Tides and Weather
- Pilotage and Passage Planning
